“Simply decoded, Medical Research is experimental medicine with the aim to expand ones knowledge in the humongous field of Medicine”
Over the past decade, India has witnessed a steady growth in the field of Child Health & Child Care. With an increasingly high number of vaccines being administered to children in the government and private sectors, the incidence & prevalence of vaccine preventable diseases has shown a considerable decrease. We see more of common viral infections and allergic problems these days. I foresee genetics and immunology playing a major role in child health in future.
It is heartening to see that more and more young Pediatricians are specializing in Pediatric Super-specialties. Their knowledge and skills coupled with improved medical infrastructure in many cities is taking child care to a different level.
Parents today are open to consulting the doctor for common viral infections & health problems related to allergies in children. The most heartening change noticed especially among educated parents is sharing the onus of child health-care along with the doctor. Communication between parents & the doctor has become more open & a two- way process. As a result, parents are helped in taking informed decisions about the child' s health. They have also become more accepting of the advice given by the Pediatrician.
Children are the future work force and intellectual powerhouse of our country. These positive changes in child health & child care need to be taken to slums in cities & towns & also to rural areas. As responsible health- care personnel, we must concentrate on the preventive aspect of Child health & try to rationalize the use of medicines on children.
Let us together contribute to the upliftment of child health.
Many men whom I have come across in life are no doubt with over-powering, intimidating personalities – either because they are physically strong or because they may wield considerable power. However, not one of them has impacted me in any noteworthy manner. On the other hand, very few men exhibit professional expertise, skills & qualities that set them apart from the others. They are an inexhaustible fountain of wisdom & a power house of resilience. Heading this illustrious list of icons is the name of Dr. Y. K. Amdekar. Sir has been my mentor & guiding light; from him I have learnt the most important lesson “mental toughness is the key to success”. Thank you, Sir, for creating in me this never saturating thirst for knowledge & being my educator in the true sense of the term.
I have yet to meet a doctor as wise and empathetic as Dr. Ugra. He has been our Pediatrician for almost a decade and his support has been invaluable.
Dr Deepak Ugra is one of the most gentle and kind doctors I have ever come across …he has looked after Tim and Jeh with utmost care and precision…his diagnosis is what me and Saif trust completely…he has always been there for my boys and I would not want it any other way …we as a family are most lucky to have him as our Pediatrician…The best part of him as a doctor is he does not jump to medication immediately …he always calms me down as a mother and makes me feel secure …I wish him the bestest always…
Dr Ugra has been a wonderful part of our family looking after both my children since many years. His medical expertise combined with his gentle disposition and re assuring nature has been a boon to our family. We wish Dr Ugra all the very best in all his endeavors.
Dr. Ugra provides exceptional care with a loving personal touch. He is always available with undivided attention by taking time with you to listen and understand your situation. He works with the patient and parents to develop a collaborative plan of care that is comfortable for everyone. I trust him implicitly with my child’s medical needs. He medicates only as much as is necessary. We never have a fear that he is over medicating our child. His manner is so calming that as a parent you feel taken care of and heard because you know your child Is in the best hands.
Dr Ugra has been not only Sufi and Soleil’s doctor, but a friend and support to me. Dr Ugra is empathetic and always supportive. It’s a blessing to have his calming influence and experience in our lives- he always knows exactly what to do to maintain the health of my twins.
We absolutely love Dr Ugra - blessed to have him -he is the most caring pediatrician and his expertise and knowledge is unmatched !! Thank u Dr ugra for answering the silliest of our questions so patiently !! I Trust my kid's health blindly with his advice !!
For every new mother like I was 15 years ago dealing with the smallest of the issues with children’s health comes with so much stress and anxiety. But having Dr Ugra to monitor both my children over the last decade and more has been such a wonderful experience and he totally knows how to keep the stress and anxiety out, diagnose the issues and treat accordingly. His diagnosis has always been on point and I really like his conservative approach in treatment, which involves home remedies and medicines just as required. My boys have also always been very comfortable with him around. Thank you, Dr Ugra, for always being there at the shortest notice and thank you for all your help and guidance till date.
Dr Deepak Ugra - I have known him for as long as i have known my son Samay. Fortunately, we have had very few opportunities to meet each other - my son has mostly known good health in his care(touchwood)! However, new parents are always antsy, but Dr Ugra has been as patient with us, as he has been gentle with Samay. i don't know many doctors who vaccinate an infant without him even realizing that he is being in jected.or who answer your phone call at 4:00am, and are there to treat your child within the hour. I have experienced both with Dr.Ugra. And feel furtunate and secure, that my son Samay is in his care.
So honest confession, I really would not know what I would do or how I would take care of my kids had Dr. Ugra not been there. Day/night any odd hour of the day he is always available for any genuine medical concern. Always so patient. I seriously lucked out with him. Always thankful to him.
Dr Ugra has been my sons pediac since I remember. And till date even though the boys are no more babies he still guides me regarding them. Infact feel sad he’s not their primary dr anymore(I always said kids should never grow up). He’s caring, loving, warm and an incredible doctor, aware of every child’s individual needs and everything that’s going on in the medical world. We were very lucky to be blessed with his care. And till date if anyone has babies I first suggest they should be under Dr. Ugra’s care. Thank you doc for everything and more so for being you.
Dr Deepak Ugra is Mumbai moms best kept secret. He is my daughter’s first doctor and we haven’t felt the need to change. The vets thing about Dr Ugra is that he doesn’t panic when parents do, and he never over medicates. For him the long term health of the child is crucial. Thanks for everything doc
